Washington, DC radio dj Mean Gene is Doug Lazy, a jaunty rapper whose gimmick is his supposed indolence. Actually, the self-produced deep-bottom hip-house tracks — which owe something to the capital city's go-go scene — have plenty of get-up-and-groove, as does ol' Doug, once he gets up to the mic and commences to rhyming. In fact, other than a few in-the-studio discussions and audible Zs from the star, this party is strictly hi-energy.
