Memphis, Tennessee's Scruffs had more than just geography in common with power pop legend Big Star. They sounded like a rocked-up amateur version of the Raspberries and plundered the same ground as other bands, some of whom (Pezband, for instance) were more talented. Honorable mention goes to guitarist Dave Branyan for contributing exciting but economical solos to the effort.
