Rod. Faces. 3 songs.

"We ended up not doing anything more for a couple of reasons, including Rod's busy solo schedule and his Vegas commitments."

These jokes write themselves.

good topical stuff erik,
although i much prefer a SMALL FACE(S), i'm rapidly approaching the point where i'll just accept the FACES.
coincidentally, i just heard (tues 3/20 i think) distant strains of 'maggie may' eminating from the kitchen/restaurant/hotel where i work. background music for a bunch of tatoo'd leftover also rans. but i reckon, history is everyones favourite subject no matter how old they are. so i said (to myself), fuck it anyway, @ least the door is open enough to kick it in.

So, they're going to play two Faces tunes and one Small Faces song. With Wood's strings tuned down low to accommodate Rod's new lower register. Steve Marriot must be turning in his grave.

Age takes its toll on all of us - I'd rather them try to accomodate Rod's current singing than force him to sing badly because his range is cropped. It doesn't sound like this will result in an ongoing reunion, though. And, given Ronnie Lane's departure from this plane, that's probably appropriate.

It's not age alone that's lowered Rod's voice, but surgery. Can't blame the guy for it, just not too keen on how it will sound. And from what what stated in the article, neither is McLagan.

You're right, age does take a toll. I guess everyone can't be Robin Zander.

It is almost embarrassing how often I still play "A Nod Is As Good As A Wink......".

That record will always have a place in my heart and it deserves to be considered far higher in the pantheon of the all-time classic Rock albums - just a great, great record.

I don't think they ever matched it or came close really on any of their other albums - you have to selectively pull the best stuff on all the rest just to get to that level - but they scattered a lot of great stuff on the other 3 albums too.

The Faces boxset - Five Guys Walk Into A Bar is tremendous as well in distilling their special personality.

Oh, c'mon. Enough with all those silly old ER rumours.
