 ebay's "stock" reviews
Author: STEVE

i wonder, does ebay compensate the music critics (i use the term loosely here) for using their reviews that so many people read in order to determine if they should shell out hard fucking earned dinero?

nevermind, now i get it. it's not ebay's job to be objective.

There's a better chance that the reviewers are getting compensated than the musicians whose albums ebay is selling, I'd bet. It is possible that AMG (or Muze, or Rovi, or whatever it's called these days) has some sort of contract syndicating their content to ebay, in which case the money would at least be feeding back into the company that pays the critics' salaries.

There's an even better chance that the writer is being paid not a salary but 15-20 bucks per review, signing away the rights to the content, and the company is selling the review to numerous vendors.

I imagine you're right. The product condition may be "Like New," but the reviewer is certainly "Used" in this scenario.
