Well, that sucks. I was a latecomer to the Chameleons and never really heard them until 10 years ago or so, but what a great band.

Bummer. He was the perfect drummer for that band. Anyone not familiar with him, seek out "Soul In Isolation"...one of his best drum performances.

What terrible news!

I met him and the rest of the band after their gig at the Pontiac Grill in Philadelphia. It was 2003 or 2004.

Mr. Lever sounded great (as did the rest of the band) and they all struck me as very affable chaps as they signed my CD insert and let me gush effusively over how much their music had meant to me all through high school.

Great drummer. I second the "Soul In Isolation" recommendation.

Don't know about the rest of him, but john levers left foot was subliminal, subconscious even.

the rest of the band (burgess, smithies and fielding) were too bloody fucking LOUD!
