Thanks to Reno for pointing out the 40th anniversary of Wire's debut lat weekend. It inspired two blocks, and Richard Thompson's birthday inspired a couple more. All that, along with a few other birthday tributes, and a commemoration of the anniversary of President Truman's signing of the Marshall Plan.

Great Richard Thompson stuff.........my favorite track of his, the scorching, Thatcher-bashing "Mother Knows Best" got a play yesterday also as part of this b-day celebrating too.

And interestingly enough, many of the dates of their current tour are 2-nighters. Will be curious to see if their long-awaited next album will be even more Stones-y/blues-y.

Actually, Social D's tours over the past ten years or so have included a lot of multiple-night stands. Their albums may be sporadic, but they pack 'em in reliably on tour.
