I'm gay, but I never want to be a father.

Wow, the Kursaal Flyers. I own a compilation with their single "Television Generation" and have always been curious, but I've never heard another song by them. Also, I thought I was the only person in America to own a Skyhooks album.

Steevee, your Florida namesake Steve extolled Gay Dad in a post a week or two ago. Had to include them. An excellent Britpop band.

Most of the Kursaals' stuff is early pub-rock, leaning more toward country than rock & roll ... not exactly the ideal style for my show. They got more serious about rock & roll later.

If you want to hear the show, you can go to the station's replayer page, select last night's date, and then scroll down the page to click the 10PM link. My show starts at 10:30. You can advance the progress bar if you want to skip right to the middle of the hour ... but Dave Ballew, who handles the show before mine, is a very cool DJ in his own right.

Express that sort of sentiment on this board, about any artist/band, and you'll find that at least one of your Trouser Press colleagues shares your interest.

I've got a copy of Skyhooks' Ego is Not a Dirty Word. It dovetails nicely into my twin obsessions with 70s glam rock and pre-millennial Australian rock.

I'm also a huge fan of the first Doctors of Madness album, although I think the second and third are much weaker.
